Chain Grades & General Applications

Proof Coil (G30)

This is an excellent low-carbon steel chain for general-purpose applications. It's frequently used for tow chains, binding and logging chains, marine applications, and other general purposes. Available in self-colored, zinc-plated, or galvanized finishes. We offer both import and domestic options with a 4:1 design factor.

NOT INTENDED FOR OVERHEAD LIFTING

Alloy (G80)

These are ideal for overhead lifting applications. Made from heat-treated alloy steel, they're available in a self-colored, bright finish. We offer both imported and domestic options with a 4:1 design factor.

Alloy (G100)

Specifically recommended for overhead lifting applications, these chains are 25% stronger than grade 80, allowing you to perform the same lifts with a lighter-weight chain. They are made from heat-treated alloy steel and available in a self-colored, bright finish. We stock both US-made and imported options, featuring a 4:1 design factor.

Stainless Steel (T304/T316)

These are ideal for use where welded corrosion resistance is needed, such as in food processing, chemical, and marine applications. We stock both Type 304 and Type 316 materials. Imported and domestic options are available, with a 4:1 design factor.

Transport/Binder Chains (G70)

Designed for use in load binding and towing applications where accordance with DOT regulations is required. Available in zinc electroplate with yellow chromate (gold). Both import and domestic options have a 4:1 design factor.

NOT INTENDED FOR OVERHEAD LIFTING

Specialty

We also offer a wide range of chains for niche applications, including long-link and mooring chains, aluminum, machine, and coil chains, sash and brass chains, passing-link and double-loop chains, stack chains, jack chains, and plastic chains.

High Test (G43)

Designed for use in load binding, towing, logging, and marine applications where a strength higher than grade 30 is required. Available in self-colored, zinc-plated, or galvanized finishes. Both import & domestic options are available with a 4:1 design factor.
